Located in Jackson County in Northeast Alabama, Scottsboro is located on the Tennessee River’s great Lake Guntersville. Local highways and Interstates serving the Scottsboro area are Interstate 65 and U.S. Hwy. 72 making it easily accessible to many local attractions and fun things to do.

Both parks have picnic tables, boat launches, fishing docks and swimming docks as well as a walking trail.

The City of Scottsboro has one of the finest recreation facilities in the State of Alabama: The Scottsboro Recreation Complex known as the Rec*Com. It consists of two air conditioned gyms, an indoor walking track, an indoor pool with men and women's locker and shower facilities, meeting rooms for various meetings, banquets, or seminars, and two racquetball courts. Activities offered at the center are basketball, swim team, swim lessons, Kids Klub, gymnastics, cheerleading, clogging, line dancing, etc. Located across from the Rec*Com are three outdoor basketball courts, a fenced playground area that includes swings and a modular playground system, picnic tables, and a skate park.

Unclaimed Baggage is a one-of-a-kind store snuggled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and bordered by the 70,000 acre Lake Guntersville. Founded in 1970 by Doyle and Sue Owens as a part-time business, it soon became a full-time venture. In 1978, the Owens incorporated the company and watched it prosper as one of the great 'hidden' bargain centers for savvy shoppers.
